Well Equipped & Wired

Paul Dluehosh - N4PD and Doug Johnson - KJ4BRN teamed up to captain an outstanding Station #4 on 20-Meters CW. The 3-element yagi more than held its own. This year we tried 160-Meters and had 4 QSOs at 0300Z. As you can see above, it was a very technically detailed and pointed. It was the second station to beat it's 8-year average.

Dueling Stations: 40-Meters CW and 20-Meters CW
These two stations really worked

Mike - WØYR and Randy - W4XJ
They had some nice runs

Note, no scratch pad - It's all in Randy's head

The Rates At Station #5   Station #5 opened nicely and had 415 QSOs by 0200Z for an average of 46 per hour. Sunday morning was a little shower with 194 during the last  six hours. Sometimes you can fall into the trap of F1-ing it instead using a sub receiver to search and pounce. Yes, it is harder but can be rewarding since so many on Sunday just set on the F1 Key. The smart operator win. The 1000Z hour was zero. Maybe breakfast time? Anyway, great job on 20-Meters CW. Thanks.

Six super operators rode this station. Paul - N4PD, Mike - W0YR, Randy - W4XJ, Rick - AI1V and Gary - NC4S stayed in the chair. Jay - KI4TXP and Rick - KR9D had the most success with 44, 40 and 35 hourly rates. Paul - N4PD's 68, 58 and 43, Mike - WØYR's 55 and 50, and Randy - W4XJ's 50 hourly rates are impressive. Sharing 2-hour operating slots really make a difference. Thanks for a great job. Erik - KD5CTJ was the force behind trying 160-Meters for the first time and with Paul - N4PD's help gave it a shot. Maybe visiting 160-Meters for 5 minutes an hour may bring more; put a sub-receiver on it. This was a great ride - congratulation!.

A 8-Year Performance Perspective of Station #5:

The Antennas   Station #5 operated with the LARG's Secret Weapon. At 60-plus feet the new LARG 3-element yagi really played.
