K4LRG 5A VA OPERATIONS 8-Year Historical Review Compiled By Norm Styer - AI2C |
Since 2001,
the Northern Virginia’s Loudoun Amateur Radio Group has operated in the 5A Class of the
annual American Radio Relay League’s Field Day Operating Event. Each year we try to add
to our capabilities. Whether it is training new operators, improving antennas and antenna
supports, finding great operating sites, scheduling our best operators for peak conditions,
or adding operating and logging tools like the N1MM Logging Program, we continue to improve
our position. Our 2008 operation was our best. Something happened in 2009 but it was our
second best performance. It might have been conditions, operators, too many new operating
schemes, antennas or a combination of these. In any light, we will be back in 2010. |
