The 2009 Loudoun Amateur Radio Group's K4LRG Field Day Operation was our 16th annual event. Since 2001, we have operated in the 5A Class of the annual American Radio Relay League’s Field Day Operating Event. Each year we try to do better. Better in this case means more QSOs (radio contacts), bigger antennas, higher antennas, faster operators, better conditions, better operating sites, better equipment, faster logging, more organization, better trained operators. This year we used N1MM Logging Program in a fully netted system among all stations. See the Computer Staging under the Plans tab above. With N1MM we know every operator, when they signed on and off. Thus we can construct accurate operator performance profiles. So, review these charts. They show us how we did. Who is getting better and who may need a little assistance. Can you find your operations and contributions. Be sure to visit "The K4LRG 2009 Field Day Performance Honor Roll" at the bottom of this section. We thank all who added to these numbers. We trust you may learn from these and be ready for another great operation in 2010. Try to understand: "You gotta know when to hold them and know when to fold them." Unless you you are running at 40 or 50 per hour then you need to move, go to search and pounce, check your equipment and antenna or change operators. Bring your suggestions to our January 2010 Field Day Committee organizational meeting.
