       Jeff Slusher asked all for nominations for special recognition of our members participating in the 2007 Field Day. The Loudoun County Chapter of the American Red Cross and eleven members were selected. They represent some of the "best of the best." Everyone should be very proud of our individual and collective accomplishments. These were presented at our August 18th monthly meeting.

The Loudoun Amateur Radio Group expresses it�s sincere appreciation for the support it received from the American Red Cross, Loudoun County Chapter, for allowing the club to use the Chapter�s communications van during Field Day 2007 and thereby supporting the club in enhancing its emergency communications skills.

Charlie Preston, K4LJH   For significant contributions to the success of Field Day 2007 while serving as co-captain for food service. Charlie and his partner kept 70 people well-fed for three days through excellent long-range planning and superb execution.

Tom Dawson, WB3AKD   For significant contributions to the success of Field Day 2007 while serving as Captain, SATCOM. Tom is recognized for the highest �weight to QSO� ratio for all Field Day stations and for his diligent & hard work in achieving excellent results chasing the weakest signals.

Gary Quinn, NC4S    For significant contributions to the success of Field Day 2007 including turning his home over to the club for three days, supporting all aspects of set-up/tear-down of the event, on-air operations, hosting visitors, mentoring less experienced operators and being the perfect host.

Patti Quinn   For significant contributions to the success of Field Day 2007 by making her home available to 70 people (mostly strangers) for three days. While doing so, she remained the perfect hostess, making all feel welcome.

Jay Greeley, KI4UTB   For significant contributions to the success of Field Day 2007 through his support of many different aspects of the total operation, including planning, set up, operation and tear-down.

John Unger, W4AU   For significant contributions to the success of Field Day 2007 while serving as HF Station Captain where he pre-planned, set up, operated and disassembled the station. Under his management, the club received a significant score from his station, thus making a major contribution to the club�s success.

David Mullins, K4ARP   Special recognition for �setting the bar very high� by demonstrating his precision casting skills while installing a 40M antenna, great time management skills, and being instrumental in making the 40M/75M Phone station a major contributor in the club�s high score.

Norm Styer, AI2C   For significant contributions to the success of Field Day 2007 including special antenna design, management of 80M/15M CW station, supporting many other facets, mentoring less experienced operators, & being �the first to arrive and the last to leave.�

Rick Denney, KR9D   Rick is recognized for his noteworthy contributions to the club�s success while serving as Co-Captain of the 20M Phone station. Despite heavy QRM from near-by CW traffic, Rick was able to work around the interference and contribute significantly to the club�s success with a high score from his station.

Dave Putman, KE4S   For significant contributions to the success of Field Day 2007 including club management, and pre-planning, set-up and operation of the club�s Automatic Packet Reporting System (APRS).
