Friday Night Setup is where the action begins. Station Captains and their Operating Crews dream all year about what could be improved - a new rig, new computers, bigger antenna, higher antenna, more batteries, more training with TR, better shelters, and on and on. Then what if it rains all weekend or something breaks? Well, anyway, a lot of friends and many new ones show on Friday. Sometimes you just have to stop work and renew old acquaintances. And the Friday night meal around 6 or 7 PM is so welcomed and we can really catch up on what's been happening among us. And, we talk out any last minute glitches before going back to work on our stations. By 9 PM or so, all is finished and you head home knowing you done everything you could to make a good station. Most set their alarms so they get back to our site by 9 in the morning. You don't want to miss anything. Our Station Captains thank everyone for helping put things together. We welcome all the new comers. It was nice to meet you all. |
