Frank volunteered the AMRAD Communications Van at our June meeting. First, it was going to support the 20-Meter Phone station but they made other plans. So, the big antenna support was put to good use on VHF and UHF. Frank picked the highest spot around and on Friday night had lots of help assembling all the antennas. Other operators of this station included Dave Putman - KE4S, Tom Garasic - NA4MA, Tom Carney - WB9RXJ and several AMRAD team members |
The Rates On VHF Well, 6-Meters proved best as usual with 46 on Six and 12 on Two.
Last year the numbers on VHF/UHF were 6M CW - 9, 6M SSB - 72, 2M CW - 6, 2M SSB - 18, 432 CW - 1, and 432 SSB - 3. For a total of 93 Fone QSOs and 16 CW QSOs. There was some kind of gilch on the 440 antenna or cable. So, there was no UHF stuff this year. Here Are The 6-Meter Contacts

A Very Impressive Installation I wonder how a 3-element 20-Meter Yagi would play on this? |
This is a fancy operating environment. It's fully self-containd with on-board dc batteries and generator units. |
