It's Always A Lot Of Fun !!! |
Jeff Slusher - KE5APC of Leesburg, our 2006 Field Day Committee Chairman, declared the operation a great success. Numbers count and they should be pretty good this year but it's the way we get along together and the way we always seem to 'pull it off.' The score will speak for itself. And it isn't bad considering the thunderstorm delay that happen during the second and third hours of Saturday afternoon. It was great to see many new faces helping and learning the operation. We hope many will try this at home and we hope to see them all next year. The 2007 Edition of The LARG Field Day Committee will form in early January 2007; try to join in. Please use the Site Guide at the bottom of this and each of the other sections of this report to read about our operation. If you built or operated a station than study the Rate Charts - all 36 of them. |

The Homestead At Banshee Reeks Nature Preserve Banshee Reeks is an outstanding location with great facilities for a Field Day. There is plenty of space and all the comforts of home. The mansion served as our base of operation and housed our kitchen operation, the APRS station and a place to get cool and dry. The 40 and 80-Meter Phone Station was set up on the front porch. |
