The Loudoun Amateur Radio Group Of Northern Virginia & Its Radio Station K4LRG

K4LRG 2010 Field Day Operation
Station #4
CAPTAINS:  Rick Denney - KR9D
OPERATING   ON   20-PHONE   &   75-PHONE

The 2010 K4LRG Station #4 moved off the porch at WB5ODJ and was a cool set up by Rick - KR9D. It's ready for the next public service operation. As last year, Rick used his Ten-Tec and a new 3-element yagi on his AB-577 Antenna Mast. He added an 80-Meter Fone Dipole in order to provide site coverage of that band-mode.

Many LARG members tried their hand at 20-Meter Fone:

         Rick - AI1V
         Buddy - K4CJB
         Sally - K4NOB
         Chris - KB3RUR
         Anna - KJ4EOS
         Dave - KE4OKY
         Luther - K5NOB
         Dave - KE4S
         Zbigniew (Z) - KU1T
         Rick - KR9D

Station #4 finished with 642 good QSOs with 590 on 20-Fone and 53 on 75-Fone. Station #4 was the only one of three 80-Fone equipped stations to make it to 75-Fone. This is a marked improvement over the 338 QSOs in 2009 and sorta close to the 721 QSOs in 2008.

The Rates

Station #4 finished with 643 good QSOs with 590 on 20-Fone and 53 on 75-Fone. Rick - KR9D had a nice 55 QSOs to open Field Day. Dave - KE4S had a nice 57 at 1400 UTC. "Z" - KU1T put most of the 75-Fone QSOs in the log during the early morning hours. This is the second best performance of Station #4. It was nice to see it hold its own during the first hour. This was a second best effort to the 721 QSOs in 2008 and muchbetter than the 338 in 2009.

In Summary: Again, Rick did a super job setting up his station and it performed well this year. We appreciate all the Fone Op's who gave 20-Fone a run.
