Operators Focused On 2011 Virginia QSO Party

       The Loudoun Amateur Radio Group (LARG) fielded several very focused operators with 25 submitted station logs for 1,280,218 points and placed a distant second to the Fauquier Amateur Radio Association (FARA) with 32 logs and a combined score of 2,243,633 points. The Central Virginia Contest Club finished third with 1,178,281 points.

        The Sterling Park Amateur Radio Club (SPARC) has published the 2011 Virginia QSO Party scores and awards. These are available on their Internet Site. Gordon Miller - NQ4K's presentation at the Manassas Hamfest is also posted.

Two LARG members received Commonwealth Awards:

John Unger - W4AU operating Single Operator - CW - High Power made 579 QSOs and 1177 QSO Points for a score of 194,705 with 165 Multipliers. In setting a new Commonwealth All Time High Record, John surpassed the 135K point record set by Patrick Wilson, W4PW of Quinton, in 2009.

Norm Styer - AI2C operating Single Operator - All Modes - All Bands - High Power made 1345 QSOs and 1686 QSO Points for a score of 330,774 with 217 Multipliers.

          4th Place: KF4TJJ / M, Carol Boehler with 235 QSOs and 447 QSO Points for a score of 12,775 with 25 Multipliers and 16 Counties with 10 or more QSOs.

          6th Place: KF4TJI / M, Denny Boehler with 232 QSOs and 436 QSO Points for a score of 12,500 with 25 Multipliers and 16 Counties with 10 or more QSOs.

          10th Place: K2BFY /M, Henry Weidman with 113 QSOs and 213 QSO Points for a score of 6,125 with 22 Multipliers and 8 Counties with 10 or more QSOs.

    LARG Multi-Operator - Multi-Transmitter All Time Records

          3rd Place: N4PD, Nancy and Paul Dluehosh with 615 QSO and 841 QSO Points for a score of 102,261 with 121 Multipliers.

   LARG Single Operator - Digital All Time Records

          1st Place: KJ4VTH, Bill Robbins with 34 QSOs and 68 QSO Points for a score of 1,768 with 26 Multipliers.

   LARG Single Operator - Single Band All Time Records

          1st Place: KE4S, Dave Putman with 289 QSOs on 40-Meters Phone and 311 QSO Points for a score of 31,200 with 100 Multipliers.

   LARG Single Operator - CW - High Power All Time Records

          1st Place: W4AU, John Unger with 579 QSOs and 1177 QSO Points for a score of 194,705 with 165 Multipliers.

   LARG Single Operator - Phone - All Bands All Time Records

          2nd Place: KI4TXP, Jay Ives with 533 QSOs and 567 QSO Points for a score of 74,200 with 139 Multipliers.

          25th Place: KG4UPR, Bryan Stephens with 189 (Low Power) QSOs and 249 QSO Points for a score of 17,432 with 68 Multipliers.

          27th Place: K4FW, Jim Stowers with 176 QSOs and 183 QSO Points for a score of 16,238 and 86 Multipliers.

          36th Place: K2LEK / 4, Mike Wodynski with 47 VA Counties and Cities for a score of 12,266.

          2nd Place: AI2C, Norm Styer with 1345 QSOs and 1686 QSO Points for a score of 330,774 with 217 Multipliers

          9th Place: K0ZR, Jeff Crawford with 919 QSOs and 1236 QSO Points for a score of 198,260 with 160 Multipliers.

          10th Place: NC4S, Gary Quinn with 1042 QSOs and 1123 QSO Points for a score of 194,779 with 173 Multipliers.

          42nd Place: K3SYH, Bill Buchholz with 264 (Low Power) QSOs and 399 QSO Points for a score of 33,680 with 88 Multipliers.

          45th Place: AI1V, Rick Miller with 216 (Low Power) QSOs and 263 QSO Points for a score of 22,066 with 82 Multipliers.
