Loudoun ARES - LARG OPLAN 2004-1 Amateur Radio Support To ARC - Reston Century 2004

The Reston Century 2004 by the Reston Bicycle Club will be held on Sunday, August 29; more than 1000 riders will cross Loudoun County. The Loudoun Chapter of the American Red Cross supports this operation with four Loudoun Rest Stops. Our local ARC chapter benefits from this operation; last year they received close to ten-thousand dollars from the Reston Bicycle Club. Their operation is supported with communications organized by the Loudoun County Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES) Emergency Coordinator Tom Dawson - WB3AKD. Much of the ARES support is provided by members of the Loudoun Amateur Radio Group.

All Loudoun County amateur radio operators are encouraged to join the Loudoun County ARES organization. Start by signing onto the Loudoun VA ARES Reflector on the Yahoo Internet Site and contact the Loudoun ARES EC.

Tom Dawson - WB3AKD has released the ARC - RBC LARG-Loudoun ARES OPLAN 2004-1 for this operation - Click Here .

Additional amateur radio operators of Loudoun County are welcomed. If you plan to assist then immediately contact our EC - Tom Dawson - WB3AKD or one of our Assistant EC: Bill Frisbie - W3EMH or Gary Quinn - NC4S. They will need to know your capabilities and an idea of when and where you may help. Visit previous reports of this operation on this site to obtain ideas of where you may help.
