Loudoun Amateur Radio Group
K4LRG 1999 ARRL FIELD DAY

     The Loudoun Amateur Radio Group of Northern Virginia operated the 1999 American Radio Relay League Field Day from Catoctin Hollow Farms south of Lovettsville, Virginia. Three HF Stations and one VHF Station were assembled and operated. Three Windom Wire Antennas were hung between trees, a 2-Element Yagi Beam was erected on a 25 foot mast and 6 M, 2 M and 440 MHz antennas were assembled and installed on a second 25 foot tower. Two sets of gasoline-power portable generators supported three of the stations and the fourth station was operated full-period from natural - battery - power equipped with solar panels. All the antenna work was completed on Friday night. The generators and station equipment were assembled on Saturday morning.
