The Orginal K4LRG by Charles F. Sims, April 17, 2004
In April 2004, we received this nice note from Charles Sims of Georgia; he explains how K4LRG got it start. Hope some of us can take him up on his invitation. Charles has been honored with Life Membership in the Loudoun Amateur Radio Group and contact information is contained in our Membership Roster. Charles, thanks for the nice comments. Best Regards, Norm Styer - AI2C.

Hi To All,

I am the original KN4LRG from Bainbridge, Georgia 31717.

I got my Novice ticket in 1955 and passed the Conditional exam one year later. I graduated from Georgia Tech in 1963 where I operated mobile for five years. As an engineer for Lockheed Aircraft, I foolishly let my ticket lapse around 1965 and have regretted it ever since.

I direct the Development Authority of Peach County Georgia and read about the club through the e-mails you have graciously allowed me to share over the last few years.

The things you fellas are doing are very impressive and a tribute to the call sign I have loved so much.

Please come by to visit me in Fort Valley, Georgia. The peach crop looks great for May through August harvest. The peach ice cream is outstanding.

Thank you for allowing me to stay in touch with your activities.
