HIGHLIGHTS OF THE APRIL MEETING:

The Club viewed the video, "VP8SSI, the South Sandwich Saga" from the ARRL. This excellent video details the 1992 DXpedition to the South Sandwich islands. It is a high quality video and is very well produced; we saw some of the wildest country and weather on the earth! The club also discussed our 1996 Field Day plans and heard about the impending balloon launch.

HIGHLIGHTS FOR OUR UPCOMING MAY MEETING:

As a sequel to last month's DX video, we will show a film made during the 1994 Peter I Island Dxpedition. This video tells the story of another journey to the far south reaches of the planet.

Peter I Island is even closer to the South Pole than the South Sandwich Islands. This Dxpedition was organized by the same group that put VP8SSI on the air, and it's interesting to see how much better prepared they were this time around. We will also try to finalize our plans for the June 22-23 Field Day; there is just about a month left to get ready!!
