MEETING LOCATION: NO REGULAR LARG CLUB MEETING ON JULY 19 - NEXT CLUB MEETING AUGUST 16, 2003.

July Club Meeting Plans - There will be no regular meeting of LARG in August. Instead, on July 19, the normal club day, we will be launching the HABCAT-2 high altitude balloon. The instrument package carried by the balloon will be an improved version of the HABCAT-1 package launched earlier this year. If you want to participate in this activity please contact Tom, WB3AKD, who can put you in touch with the coordinator of the appropriate team. Launch time is scheduled for 0900 EDST. Pressure and temperature telemetry will be transmitted on 145.65 as modulated FM modulated CW. Video from the instrument package can be seen on cable channel 59, and, if time allows, APRS will be downlinked on 144.39.

June Club Meeting Report - We made our final plans for the 2003 LARG Field Day.

Field Day 2003 - Buddy, K4CJB, reports the successful operation of our 5A Field Day event at Gary's, NC4S, farm. Our final score and other information will be in next month's newsletter.
