LARG Monthly Meeting
September 18, 1999

The September 18th meeting of the L.A.R.G. was held at The Leesburg Police Station on Plaza St., Leesburg at 8:30 A.M. The meeting was called to order by Norm Styer, AI2C, president, at 8:40 A.M. There were 17 members in attendance.

The meeting began with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag and a welcome to all newcomers.

The secretary's report was read and accepted.

Dale Cabaniss, treasurer, gave the treasurer's report and it was accepted as read. The treasury balance is $ 523.17


Training Committee

Paul, N4PD, chairman of the Training Committee said the General training class would start on Thursday, September 23, 1999 at 7:00 P.M. at the Leesburg Police Station. Six students were enrolled.

Balloon Committee

Tom Dawson, WB3AKD, chairman of the Balloon Committee, said the Balloon Committee met in early September to work out the logistics on converting numbers to C.W. in preparation for the next launch scheduled for October 2nd There will be a fox hunt after today's meeting. There will be a Balloon Committee meeting on September 23, 1999 at the Purcellville Library at 6:00 P.M.

WEB Activities

K4LRG is now on the air with a web site and a general We need to talk to Pete regarding passwords.


Contest Committee

Norm, AI2C, said he would be writing an article to go on our web site about the 10 M contest. We finished 3rd in the United States.

Larry presented Field Day pins and the meeting was turned over to Tom, WB3AKD, who gave a briefing on fox hunt simulation.

The October meeting of LARG will be held at the Leesburg Police Station on Plaza Street, Leesburg, on Saturday, October 16, 1999 at 8:30 A.M. with breakfast at Bob Evan's restaurant prior to the meeting at 7:30 A.M. for any interested.

There is generally no November meeting as it is a combined November/December meeting. Norm will look into having the December dinner meeting at the Purcellville Inn.
