New Business

Carol, KF4TJJ, reported that a local retirement home contacted her and is interested in having a ham radio demonstration. Jay Greeley, KI4UTB, volunteered to coordinate the event.

One of the residents is a former ham radio operator and Rick mentioned it would be nice to have us set up a station for him as the facility has agreed to let him put up an antenna.

Dave, WA4TXE and Dale, K3CN, are working aggressively in establishing a western receiver site for the 146.700 repeater. The location will be in Purcellville. They are looking to do some site work at the main site next weekend and the western site the following weekend. Rick, AI1V, reported that they are looking for help.

Dave, KE4S, has contacted CQ magazine so that we would be listed as a club for their contests. All contestants should list us as Loudoun ARG when submitting logs.

Dennis, KF4TJI, has a few more 2009 calendars for sale.

SKYWARN classes – March 28 there will be a class at the Fairfax Fire and Training Facility.

Note: Regarding next month's meeting – the Leesburg Garden Show is the same weekend as our meeting and the downtown area will be closed.

Dave, KE4S, thanked club members who help him put up new 80 meter loop.

Next weekend is the greater Baltimore Hamfest.

Motion to dismiss was entertained. The meeting was adjourned at 9:05am.

A reminder to all about Holy Trinity's inclement weather policy: if Loudoun County Schools are closed (or would be if it were a school day), all activities at the church are cancelled – this includes outside groups. This policy allows for parking lot clearing so snow is not packed down; and it is also a safety issue.
