The 2008 Field Day Committee, Station Operators and Station Captains of the Loudoun Amateur Radio Group met at the farm of Gary Quinn - NC4S on Saturday, June 14, 2008 at 8 AM, to do some pre-Field Day tower and antenna preparations. The focus was assemble and checkout of the GOTA Station's self-supporting 15-Meter Phone tower, initial assemble of the new Hy-Gain 20-Meter 3-element yagi for the 20-Meter Phone Station, and inspection and partial assemble of the 40-foot portable guyed AB-577/GRC Antenna Mast for the 20-Meter Phone Station. The 20-Meter 3-element yagi went together almost as expected and looks real good. It should produce a lot of Field Day QSOs. Two weeks ago, John Unger - W4AU of Hamilton assembled and tested the new Hy-Gain 3-element 15-Meter Yagi that will be used by the GOTA station. Below are few photographs of the other work. We march ordered from the work site at 12:30 PM.
