The VHF/UHF Station was put together by Mark Johnson - W3ZI of Ashburn after Tom Carney - WB9RXJ had to spend the weekend troubleshooting at his real job. Mark says, "Several station captains helped fill in the hole left when Tom couldn't make it. I supplied the following equipment in response to Gary's plea for help: a Kenwood TS2000 Transceiver, a Gateway Pentium II laptop computer, microphone, key, and the 12-volt batteries." The 20M CW 3-element yagi shared the LARG Mobile Tower with the VHF - UHF Antennas. Gary used a rope on the HF yagi boom to keep is pointed while he mounted his antenna rotor above the HF antenna to point the VHF - UHF antennas. A very cool set up.

Mark continues, "We had to pull together the VHF/UHF Station and Operators at the last minute this year and thanks to all who helped make this happen!! How did it it turn out? Well, the VHF/UHF Station had its best show ever this year with 100+ contacts logged. We were QRV on 6M, 2M and 432 phone AND CW!! with YAGI's on the the Club Tower at the 40-foot lever. I think the secret weapon though was the "Bear Booster Effect Gain" provided by the "Teddy Bear Balun." A nice opening on 6M bagged good DX to Texas. And, CW contacts were made on 6M, 2M and 432. All in all, a great effort and lots of fun. I know a couple of the new ops and class graduates operated there and really need to give them a good deal of the credit. Thanks to all who supported the VHF/UHF effort. We raised the bar and lets do better next year!!"

        The numbers on VHF/UHF: 6M CW - 9, 6M SSB - 72, 2M CW - 6, 2M SSB - 18, 432 CW - 1, and 432 SSB - 3. For a total of 93 Fone QSOs and 16 CW QSOs that equals 129 contact points. Those are pretty good numbers. Thanks to all who operated.
