Subject: APRS Field Day Planning

For all LARG APRS Users.

On Field Day 2005 I plan to establish a temporary APRS digipeater at the LARG Field Day site - Banshee Reeks Park. The digi will operate using the parameters set up by Bob Bruninga, WB4APR.

The system will digipeat on TEMPn-N and RELAY Call sign K4LRG-6 (or K4LRG-FD if I can make a tactical call sign work correctly)

Operating frequency 145.01 MHz

To set your trackers, you will want to set the following parameters:

operating frequency 145.01
UNPROTO path APRSFD VIA TEMP3-3

Any questions or suggestions will be welcome. Dave KE4S

This station operated well and was being repeated by Steve Tedesco - KB2CEV's Digirepeater located in South Riding; Steve had moved his repeater to the FD APRS frequency. Boyd Garrett - N5CTI had a wrist-mounted GPS-APRS unit that also operated successfully as he walked around the FD site. Norm Styer - AI2C played with his mobile unit but gave up; later, he discovered tha he had inadvertently turned off his beacon - too many menu - it's sure not like Charlie Whiskey. We're getting better at this and there are over a dozen GPS-APRS units now operational in LARG.
