Loudoun Amateur Radio Group

Year 2000 Club Contest

Object: Exchange QSO information with as many designated stations, club member stations, and non club stations as possible on the 2 meter FM band.

Date and Contest Period:  Contest starts January 22, 2000 at 1300 Z (8 a.m.) and ends December 31, 2000 at 1300 Z (8 a.m.).

Contest Exchange:  Manufacture of radio used to make contact, and first year licensed.

Designated Station Operating Hours and Procedures:

Operating hours of designated stations will be announced prior to the beginning of each month. The club newsletter and the Sunday club on air meeting are where the operating hours will be posted for the following month. More hours will be posted than what will be operated by the designated operator for the month.

The designated operator will choose his hours to operate within the posted operating hours. During the operating hours the designated station will monitor his frequency of choice. He can either choose to call CQ or just monitor the frequency of his choice and wait for other stations to call him.

The monthly station can be worked, during his designated month, only once per calendar day. Club member stations, and non-club member stations can be worked only once per day. The calendar day is defined as the time period from midnight to 2359 Eastern Standard Time.

The ghost station will operate during all twelve months of the contest. No hours will be posted for his operation and he will not call CQ. The ghost station will answer any club station call that he hears call CQ, or monitoring on a simplex frequency. The ghost station will not identify as the ghost station, only as a club station and the points for contacting the ghost station will be added to club member scores when all logs are turned in.

Operating hours for all designated stations will be on weekends, early mornings, and evenings only.
