Sky-Eye I Flight Tracking Sites
By Norm Styer, AI2C, Clarkes Gap, Virginia July 11, 2001
Our other launch sites, flight paths and recovery areas are shown in double-circled X's and pink.

For planning, the Launch Team Captain has chosed Sideling Hill on I-68, just west of Hancock, MD for Sky-Eye I Launch; it is at the second from the left double-circled X in the upper left of the map.

The Circled-X's mark the proposed Tracking Sites and are numbered 1 through 13. They offer access to several routes as may be necessary as Tracking Teams move forward to follow the flight. Several sites are for trackers operating from their home and Mission Control. Priority for establishing the other sites go to Sites 4, 2, 5, 3, 6 and 11. Other sites of importance are 1, 7 and 13 in that order. Another unmarked site in the Rockville, MD area is also necessary.  As the fight path and speed is confirms during the Tracking Phase, Trackers will be directed by Mission Control to jump forward past other Trackers and position their equipment to verify the flight. Selected Trackers will be required to remain posted, operational and follow the flight to prevent loss of sigmal and bearing.
