The September 21, 2002, LARG Meeting will be at 8:30 in the Leesburg Holy Trinity Lutheran church at 605 West Market Street. The church is located at the intersection of Market Street and Catoctin Circle on the west side of town. It is just east of the bypass. From the Bypass, take the Leesburg exit at the west end of town and the church is on the right just past the stoplight. Please enter through the door on the east side of the building. There are both steps and a ramp by the door. You can join other LARG members for breakfast (~7:30) before the meeting at the International House of Pancakes located in the Shopping Center with Walmart, just off of Rt. 15, north of Leesburg.

September Club Meeting Plans - Julie, KG4RKI, will review our successful participation as the providers for communications during the American Red Cross - Reston Bike Club Century Bike Ride Across Loudoun County. This event was a major enterprise for the club and involved many of our members as well as hams from other clubs in the area. Congratulations to Julie for leading LARG's efforts in this event. Tom, WB3AKD, will bring us up to speed on the balloon launch planned for October 5, 2002. Norm, AI2C, will tell us about his Flying Circus Boy Scout operations earlier this month; it looks like those Scouts really had a good time. We will also get a report on our newly acquired LARG Repeater and how the club did selling some of the recently donated equipment at recent hamfests.

Club News - Big signals soon to be heard from Leesburg now that Paul, N4PD, has gotten his permit from the town to erect a tower on his property. Charlie, K4LJH , is vacationing in Maine and can be found this week on 7015 kHz at 8:00 p.m. local time. He should have a pretty good signal from Maine in the evenings.

News, News News ... - As you can see from the brevity of the newsletter this month, your editor needs some help! Please send articles, ideas for articles, and other information to me, and I'll see that they get into print!
