Regular Meetings held the Third Saturday of Each

MEETING LOCATION CHANGE
Due to an unfortunate fire at the Tex-Mex Restaurant (Formerly N.C. Barbecue)
will be changing our meeting location for the month of September. The September
meeting on the 16th will be held at the Goose Creek Meeting House in
Lincoln.
Directions:
At the traffic light in Purcellville turn south on Rt 722 (Maple Ave). After
about 2 miles and after passing through most of the village of Lincoln you
will see Janney's Store on your left; the Meetinghouse is the brick building
just past the store on the left side of the road. Park in the large parking
lot on the right hand side of the road across from the Meetinghouse. The
LARG Club meeting will be held in the room on the south side of the Meetinghouse.
We will have coffee, tea, and some donuts.
Several members have mentioned that they will be having breakfast at the
McDonalds in Purcellville before the meeting, stop by if you can.
SINCE OUR LAST MEETING:
Several members participated in a fox hunt
immediately following our August meeting. Charlie, K4LJH, found
a better location to hide and about an hour was required to fix his location.
Everybody had a great time as we practice our radio location skills.
PLANS FOR OUR NEXT MEETING:
In response to the fire at our normal meeting location
we need to discuss alternate locations and begin planning for our
relocation.
Time permitting, we will be viewing the Video Tape
of the Balloon Launch of the Colorado group (E.O.S.S.) th,is is quite
a tape and will help us plan for our pending launch.
WORK IN PROGRESS:
Work continues on the balloon project. Within the next several weeks
the balloon crew will begin to assemble the package. Tune in to our radio
net for the exact date.
